FGF5–FGFR1複合体には柔軟な無秩序領域（IDR）が含まれ、クライオ電子顕微鏡ではその部分が平均化されて明瞭に観察できない可能性が高い。AIは配列情報や既存構造データを基に、これらの柔軟領域の構造アンサンブルや相互作用様式を予測できるため、実験で欠落しやすい部分を補完し、仮説形成を加速する点で特に有効である。
2. AIと実験構造解析を統合することで、従来「見えない」とされてきた柔軟領域の機能を構造的に議論できるようになる。本研究は、静的な構造決定にとどまらず、動的な分子相互作用を統合的に理解する新しい研究枠組みを提示するものであり、他の受容体複合体解析や創薬研究への展開も期待される。 |
