| 3-2 AIを活用することで解決したい（解決した）学術的課題の概要を教えてください（分野外の専門家がわかるように。1テーマ100〜300字程度）Please provide an overview of the academic challenge(s) you would like to address (or have addressed) by utilizing AI. | トポロジカル物質相は物質のバルクを記述する波動関数から定義されるトポロジカル数によって特徴付けられた新奇相であり、バルク-エッジ対応を通して系の境界に局在状態を発現させるという性質を持つ。当研究グループでは2018-2019年に、局在状態の空間分布を機械学習によって画像認識させることでトポロジカル物質相を同定する研究を行なった実績を有する。一方、近年物性物理学の分野で機械学習ないしAIの活用は画像認識の域を超えて広がっている。これを踏まえ、本計画では(i) 機械学習による量子多体系ソルバを利用した多体トポロジカル現象の理論研究、(ii) explainable AI (XAI)によるバルクのトポロジカル量の直接同定、を行う。 |

2. 計画(ii)において、explainable AI（= 判断や予測の根拠を抽出できるAI）は物理学分野での活用例が少ないので、トポロジカル相を例に適切な利用法を確立できれば、多様な物理現象への応用可能性が期待できる。
